Your Driving Test Appointment (Cancelled?)

If you currently have your driving test booked, please ensure that you keep an eye out for Messages or Emails from the DVSA in regards to your appointment.

Unfortunately in our area at the moment there seems to be a big increase in Driving test appointments being changed or rescheduled by the DVSA. This is usually due to the “Examiner no longer available”.

The email will state that you test has been changed and will give the new appointment details.

What do I do??? 🙁

Dont Panic, this is just the way things are at the moment within the DVSA. The Covid backlog is creating chaos within our profession.

  1. First thing to do is TELL YOUR DRIVING INSTRUCTOR IMMEDIATELY. Give them the new details to ensure they are aware of the situation, and they can check their availability for the new date for you. It is YOUR test details, and the DVSA do not inform us as your instructor when YOUR test is changed.
  2. If the NEW test details are not suitable for either you or your instructor, the the appointment will need to be changed again. YOU must now reschedule your driving test. You instructor can advise on possible dates to avoid. You can contact DVSA by phone, or online using the booking system. Either method is fine, but both methods will be busy due to the backlog and number of users.
  3. Once you have a new date, recheck with your instructor that all is still good.
  4. Remember to discuss upcoming lessons with your instructor on the run up to the new test date.
